Intermediate, or Class 11 and 12 (2 years)

• Science: MPC (maths, physics, chemistry) leads to engineering; BiPC (biology, physics, chemistry) leads to medicine; library science.
• Commerce: CEC (civics, economics, commerce).
• Arts: MEC (maths, economics, commerce) and HEC (history, economics, civics).

Residential junior colleges in Andhra Pradesh admit through the APRJC entrance test.

Polytechnic diploma (3 years)

Mechanical, computer science, civil, EEE, IT, automobile, electronics and communication, biotechnology, electrical, chemical, aeronautical, agriculture, architecture, biomedical, and marine, mining, leather, textile, petroleum, plastic and rubber technology. Admission is through the state POLYCET, and a diploma can lead straight into the second year of a B.Tech.

IIIT (6 years)

RGUKT's IIITs in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana admit students straight after Class 10: two years of pre-university study, then a four-year B.Tech.

ITI (1 to 2 years)

Fitter, computer operator, draughtsman (civil), mechanic (radio and TV, motor vehicle, diesel, marine), electrician, plumber, surveyor, machinist, welder, fireman, cookery and painter, among many trades. An apprenticeship usually follows.

Paramedical (2 to 3 years)

DLMT (medical laboratory technology), DHFM, DOA (ophthalmic assistant), DOT (operation theatre technology), health inspector and sanitary inspector.

Short-term courses (6 months to a year)

DTP, PGDCA, Tally, internet, graphics, animation, web design and cyber security.

Others

Beauty and cosmetology, jewellery design, fashion design and photography.

Government jobs after Class 10

Village Revenue Assistant (VRA), the armed forces (Agniveer), anganwadi worker (women), and driver posts. India Post's Gramin Dak Sevak posts and the SSC's Multi-Tasking Staff and GD Constable exams are also open after Class 10.
