What stays on your device

Your arrangement of Patiali - My Dashboard, My Menu, the cards you choose, the news sections you follow, your theme and text size - and your recently used links are stored in your own browser, not on Patiali's server. Clearing your browser's data for patiali.com, or Settings › Reset Website, removes them. A backup file is made on your device and goes wherever you take it.

What Patiali counts

Patiali sets no cookies of its own. To count visitors, your browser tells the server only "a visit began" and "first visit today"; the server keeps one row of totals per day - no identifier, no address, no page. When you open a link from the catalogue, the server adds one to that link's daily total, once per browser per day, for Popular on Patiali; nothing about you is kept with it. Crawlers and automated browsers are not counted.

News straight from publishers

The Refresh button on the News Dashboard and My Dashboard reads some news publishers' feeds directly from your browser, where they allow it. Those requests go to the publisher without cookies and without saying which Patiali page you were on. Every headline opens on the publisher's own site, under that site's own privacy policy.

Advertising

Most pages carry one advertisement at the foot, served by Google AdSense. The home page, My Dashboard, the News Dashboard and the News, Stocks, Spirituality, Literature and Kid's Corner sections carry none.

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on pages that show them. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You may opt out of personalised advertising in Google's My Ad Center, or opt out of other vendors' cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Links

Every link in the catalogue leads to an organisation's own public site, which has its own privacy policy. Patiali does not frame other sites or pass them anything about you.
